(FY 12) - Slowly Getting the Troop Quarters Up To 100%

By now many students attending LFA have had the opportunity to stay in the new ANG Schoolhouse Troop Quarters.  Since we began placing personnel into the facility last January (FY 11), we have been actively seeking feedback from the students.
For the most part, the feedback has been extremely positive:  "The rooms are really nice", "The bathrooms are great (but, sharing can be crowded)", and "The site, itself, is very relaxing".
Further, everyone appreciates the elevator, breakrooms, and laundry units.
We appreciate all of the kind comments and all of your efforts to keep the facility clean and serviceable, in addition to what only be described as "respectful appreciation of the building" (that means no one is breaking anything, by the way).

The good news is that we have been working hard to fix the things that were missing or critiqued poorly: the new flat screen TVs and cable are 'good to go' and the new gym equipment was recently installed in the fitness room.
Further, our people are currently working on the WIFI issue and hopefully this will be resolved soon.  The biggest complaint is cell service and, while a repeater tower has been authorized, we're not sure on the timeline for that.  Nevertheless, things are coming together and helps everyone.

(FY 12) - Updates on the LFA Staff

The LFA welcomes it newest instructor, TSgt Bill Shaner.  Sergeant Shaner comes to the Schoolhouse from the 201 REDHORSE.  He is a Ground Radio troop and will manage the RDF (radio direction finding) course and Electronic SIPT.  He will also find classroom time in the Giant Voice course.

Tips for your journey to becoming a more effective professional
By Col. Dave Funk

PRIORITIES
In any endeavor, we all must pull in the same direction to move our organization forward in exceeding the expectations of our customers. That means, first and foremost, the priorities of our leaders must be our priorities as well.

LEADERSHIP
We must always step up to take charge when needed and to share the "leadership load."

MANAGEMENT
Strive for excellence! Our mission is critical and impacts the entire Air Force.

IMPROVEMENT
Continuously look for opportunities to make things better and don't accept the premise we are too busy to make improvements.

TEAMWORK
We are all in this together.

BALANCE
Our personal lives and duty must be in harmony. Remember your family, friends and your health and happiness as you accomplish the mission.
